Baker’s Maison refrigeration - Australia first

The R22 system was replaced with an efficient CO2 / Ammonia system, enabling the wholesale bakery to reduce operating costs and reduce its environmental footprint.

The new system was designed by Minus40 and forms part of an innovative energy-reduction overhaul at the Revesby plant, and was commissioned in early 2015.

Ways to reduce energy costs

Energy Efficiency and Your Business provided presentations and panel discussions by industry experts. Sponsored by the Commonwealth Bank, the event provided an opportunity to explore opportunities for improved efficiency and reduced energy costs in a wide range of businesses.Michael Bellstedt was among speakers at the event, which was held at the City Golf Club, Toowoomba on 29 April 2015. One of the key topics was enabling access to finance via the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, which supports energy reduction projects.

The Abbott government today release an white paper describing key issues and strategies for Australia's energy strategies. Unlike the previous two white papers, it does not acknolwedge the threat of global warming, nor does it promote renewable energy.

The report does recommned that the marketplace should be allowed to determine the types of energy that are used and how it is sourced. It also recommnends that energy providers engage in community consultation when planning coal seem gas projects.

The Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) and Commonwealth Bank are financing loans tailored for businesses wanting to save on energy costs.

Launch of ‘Watts in Your Business’energy saving walks

The September issue of Australian Fruitgrower magazine includes an article about ‘Watts in Your Business’, a series of walks at fruit growers' sites. Delegates are shown energy saving opportunities at each site and usually gain valuable insights that can be readily applied at most sites.
